The Reserves Unit consists of approximately sixteen unpaid deputies who volunteer their time to supplement the patrol division. Reserve deputies answer emergency and non-emergency calls for service, patrol zones, and provide security to many events and festivals throughout the parish. They assist  with roles in crime scene operations, search and rescue missions, water patrol, narcotics investigations, and more.

      In 2017, the reserves unit volunteered a total of 4,800 hours and made 84 arrests. 

      The Reserves Unit is commanded by Lt. Mike Estes, who has over 25 years experience in public safety service.
